Laura & Tim’s Gloucestershire Wedding

Cripps Barn Wedding Photographer

Laura and Tim got married at the beautiful and tranquil setting of Cripps Barn near Cirencester in Gloucestershire in April. We were very fortunate not to have rain on the day despite it being the month of ‘April Showers’, it was pretty chilly though!

Laura got ready with her bridesmaids at the nearby New Inn at Coln St Aldwyns. All seemed very relaxed when I arrived with champagne flowing and steady hands applying makeup.

I joined Tim at Cripps Barn shortly before the ceremony where we managed to get a few nice photographs of him and his groomsmen before Laura arrived for the ceremony. Due to the weather the ceremony was held inside the barn rather than outside in the gardens as originally planned – it really was a delightful setting for a wedding. The barn was lit beautifully and had a very warm and cosy feel to it, adding to the atmosphere of a romantic wedding – and it was!

After the ceremony the guests mingled on the lawn and terrace, drank champagne, ate a few canapés, we even managed to get all the photos done before being called in for the wedding breakfast. Highlights of the wedding breakfast have to be the most amazing cuts of Lamb and the to die for brownies – seriously, they were amazing. Laura and Tim danced away the evening into the small hours with their friends and family as well as enjoy some time around the bonfire in front of the barn.

Here are a just a few photographs from Laura & Tim’s day…

James and Lucy’s Essex Wedding

Saturday 17th March saw us traveling to Essex for the wedding of Lucy and James. Just over 100 friends and family gathered in Rochford for the ceremony and reception of the couple. James is the head vet of the RSPCA’s companion animal department and Lucy is a vet working for the PDSA. They met when they were studying to become vets at University in Bristol.

Lucy got ready at the reception venue and shared pink champagne with friends and family. Her striking ivory silk and lace dress was from Dress By Design in Gloucester and her shoes, unusually were royal blue by Ted Baker.

The weather was forecast for heavy rain but fortunately the rain held off for the ceremony at St Andrews Church, a 1200 year old church in Ashingdon near Rochford. It was a lovely ceremony including Holy Communion and both James and Lucy looked relaxed and very happy. There were no bridesmaids at the wedding but they had a very fetching Page Boy who looked very dapper in his bow-tie, waistcoat and red Converse All Stars!

The couple had organised a champagne reception at the Village Hall then it was onwards to The Lawns, a lovely country house near Rochford where the reception was held. The wedding breakfast was served in the beautiful Orangery complete with clever table decorations made from Marmite jars! The food was unusually all vegetarian but was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Here are a few moments captured from their special day…
